Last night we saw the Europa League final between Manchester United & Spanish side Villarreal. In a slightly nervy game, we saw Villarreal lead in the 29th minute (this being their single shot on target in the entire match, contributing to a total tally of THREE shots on target for both sides over the course of 120 minutes!) before United levelled in the 55th minute. Following this, both teams struggled to find the winner during the rest of normal time, and subsequent extra time. Things did however get interesting with the penalties, resulting in a whopping 21 spot-kicks over all! The conclusion saw a bottom right-hand corner effort from United goalkeeper David De Gea being saved, crowing Villarreal champions.

The Champions League final on Saturday 29th May will be your last chance to get in on the European football action for this season, where we'll see fellow Mancunians Manchester City face off against Londoners Chelsea – bring it on!
